for my degree we were told that we had to do more than one case study on artists or people based in the art/craft world.
i chose two women that i have known since i was younger and who have been supportive of me and my pursuit of an art career (i know that i have mentioned lesley in a previous post but her work truly is brilliant so shes well worth a second mention).
sue and lesley’s training backgrounds are, in some ways, extremely similar but, over time and through experience their work has developed and changed so that their mediums and pieces are very diverse from one another. definitely worth checking them out:
so i went on some artist’s studio visits around salford. the studios included (in order of photos) islington mill, hot bed press print studios, and cow lane studios. islington mill was brilliant and amazing, it had apartments, a bar, a gallery, a b&b and studio spaces. it was my favourite out of the three by far but it was reflected in the price! whether you are involved in art or not they are all worth a visit just for the art culture and atmosphere.
oh my goodness i have not posted in so long and apologies for that. my degree has been getting me down as i have just had no motivation or inspiration but that is finally turning around (right as my semester is about to finish, not good- i predict a massive rush ready for the deadline after easter!). so i thought id show you a little bit of the work that i have been making and experimenting with as well as how my studio is progressing. my end of year show is coming up next month and i will definitely show you what i decide to submit for this and how i choose to exhibit it.
